　　1.中文：他是兩者中較高的。

　?。ㄕ`）He is taller of the two.

　?。ㄕ〩e is the taller of the two.（比較級(jí)＋of the two，前面要加the.）

　　2.中文：湯姆是我們學(xué)校里最年輕的。

　　（誤）Tom is youngest in our school.

　?。ㄕ㏕om is the youngest in our school.（形容詞的最高級(jí)前面要加the.）

　　3.中文：他是所有人中最強(qiáng)壯的。

　?。ㄕ`）He is the strongest in all.

　?。ㄕ〩e is the strongest of all.（在同類(lèi)中最…的，用介詞of.）

　　4.中文：我的房子跟約翰的一樣大。

　?。ㄕ`）My house is so large as John's.

　?。ㄕ㎝y house is as large as John's.（肯定形式用as＋原級(jí)形容詞＋as＋主格。）

　　5.中文：湯姆比我年輕。

　?。ㄕ`）Tom is less older than I am.

　　（正）Tom is less old than I am.（less＋原級(jí)形容詞＋than.）

　　6.中文：他是班上個(gè)子最高的。

　　（誤）He is taller than any boy in his class.

　?。ㄕ〩e is taller than any other boy in his class.（使用比較級(jí)時(shí)，應(yīng)避免與自己比，any boy包括他自己。）

　　7.中文：事態(tài)每況愈下。

　?。ㄕ`）Things go from worse to worse.

　?。ㄕ㏕hings go from bad to worse.（from bad to worse = 每況愈下，越來(lái)越糟。）

　　8.中文：多數(shù)人喜愛(ài)音樂(lè)。

　　（誤）The most people are fond of music.

　?。ㄕ㎝ost people are fond of music.（Most泛指大多數(shù)，前面不加the.）

　　9.中文：他至少遺失了一萬(wàn)元。

　?。ㄕ`）He has lost not fewer than ten thousand dollars.

　?。ㄕ〩e has lost not less than ten thousand dollars.（not less than=more than，at least，表示至少。）

　　10.中文：他們聽(tīng)得越久，就越不喜歡他。

　?。ㄕ`）The longer they listen to him， the little they like him.

　?。ㄕ㏕he longer they listen to him， the less they like him.（the＋比較級(jí)…，the＋比較級(jí)…表示兩者的同步增長(zhǎng)。）
